This app is not just for hikers though - its for anyone, cyclists, town explorers or anyone that wants to know where they are and where they have been. Its for anyone that wants to keep track of their own movements with detailed stats and share them if required. There is much more to say about this app but for now, enjoy the ride!
So what does this XploraPro App allow me to do right now? This App tries to be as accurate as possible in the information it provides to you the user, however, there are times when the location information your device receives is considerably slower than your speed - e.g. when in a car. This results in gaps in the information shown. If you slow down, you should see more accurate tracking. This is a limitation of using the device GPS. Also, it is important to select "Always Allow" the App to access your Location when prompted by the Device. If you select "When In Use" you will receive less location updates and your tracking will likely be sparse and incomplete
What is GPX format and can I export my track as GPX? GPX format is used by modern GPS systems. You can export your Track as GPX and load that in to a GPS if required and vice-versa. Can I import a GPX track in to the App? Yes, if you have a URL you can download and view the GPX file in the map view. Why does my elevation chart look angular and piecemeal at times?Elevation data comes with quite a large error margin so if you start a new track and have only a couple of points the chart may look a bit angular. Once you collect more data it starts to take the shape of your actual elevation profile. Real-time chart updates occur as you move and even if you don't move.
Sending a GPX file via "Track List" -> "Export Points" / Export Icon does not seem to be working? Do you have the Apple Mail app installed and working? You may need to download it and configure it first. Where can I get support for this App ? If you are stuck, send a message by email here: long press here with your query and we will try and get back to you as soon as possible.
